On the Iberian Wolf Route
The Iberian wolf is the largest predator in the Peneda-Gerês National Park. A protected species and loved by some; it is also an unloved species by others.
Above 1000m of altitude we find tracks and footprints of its existence.Often, we also find evidence of their attacks.
Walk with history
Cabril is a parish fully inserted in the Peneda-Gerês National Park. Since always the daily life of its people is linked to the experience with the mountain.
This is a walk through history from the 40s of the twentieth century where the mining industry, smuggling and coal were the main economic activities of an isolated population.
Shepherd for a day
This activity allows us to share the shepherd life during his workday. Tasks will be shared and explained.
From collecting goats or cows at the shelter to the return at the end of the day, there are plenty of sights and places to discover.
Who imposes the rhythm are the animals, the climate takes care of defining the place of grazing.
Linen Workshop
Linen, once the gold of the people, was an essential agricultural practice in the daily lives of the people of the mountain. Important in clothing, but also in traditional medicine, linen required a special dedication and a detailed know-how.
In this workshop we will explain and show the entire cycle of linen, from sowing to linen fabric. The linen cycle is an ancestral practice, 100% handmade and 100% organic. The method I use is centered on the Traditional Culture of Barroso.
